I’ve always loved looking up at the night sky and overcome with the feeling of being somewhere small beneath something ancient and enormous.
MAWU is a little constellation of pearl stars, made to feel like something you might have found on a long forgotten journey.
Mawu is inspired by the ancient Fon tradition of Benin, where Mawu is associated with the moon and the feminine aspect of creation. I love its connection to the moon, the night and that quiet, mysterious energy that runs through so much of my work.
